This was a really great thriller! I wouldn’t quite call it a “mystery”. I enjoyed all the twists this book had, and the unique plot of an “escape room”! I am a HUGE lover of escape rooms, and I loved The Night Swim by Megan Goldin, so picking up this book at the library was a no-brainer for me. It is told through the viewpoints of 6 different members of a team at a prestigious investment banking firm. The culture at the firm is cut-throat and competitive, and the team hates each other as much as they need each other. As Sarah and Lucy realize that they don’t want to be complicit to the sketchy things the group are doing, they begin to speak up- and pay the price for it. Meanwhile (in the book, but several years later in the timeline), the rest of the team has showed up for a surprise team building “escape room” gone awry.
This story definitely did not turn out how I imagined! There definitely were some plot holes that I didn’t love, but the plot keeps you guessing until the end. Overall a very engaging read- get it here!
