While I haven’t done as much reading over the last few months, I did acquire *several* new books over the holiday season! Some were gifted to me, and some I bought when I ~coincidentally~ needed to go to a bookstore to get a gift for somebody else. And, of course, my book of the month pick for December! That is the only one of these that I have read so far, and it did not disappoint!
Did you receive any books for Christmas? Which of these do you think I should read first?
The Chain by Adrian McKinty – this book was gifted to me by my future sister-in-law! I had never heard of it but it is right up my alley! And honestly, I don’t read that many books by male authors, so I’m excited to get into it.
Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert – If you know you know. Katee Robert is the QUEEN of smutty romance, and I love the intrigue of the twisted Dark Olympus series. I’ve read Neon Gods and have Electric Idol (book 2) on my digital TBR; so I was so excited to receive this book for Christmas!
The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins – I got this book from my amazing aunt! I read Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins a while ago and loved the casual thriller style. I’ve heard great things about this book, so I’m looking forward to checking it out.
A Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron- I picked this gem up at a used bookstore/coffee shop in my fiancee’s hometown of Carrizo Springs, Texas. If you know me, you know I LOVE dogs. A Dog’s Purpose is one of the few movies that has ever made me cry, and I can’t wait to read the book! I’m especially looking forward to it because it’s written from a dog’s point of view- something I’ve never tried before!
Kiss Her Once for Me by Alison Cochrun – This was my December BOTM pick. I was surprised to discover that this is an LGBTQ romance novel, but it turned out to be a great surprise! This book is full of fun, refreshing characters and a heartwarming story. A holiday read I thoroughly enjoyed!
