Title: Forever, Interrupted
Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid
Genre: Romance
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Okay guys, I think I’m going to have some unpopular opinions on this one. This is the 5th Taylor Jenkins Reid book I’ve read, and it is definitely my least favorite. It doesn’t even feel or sound like the writing in any of the others I’ve read?! And Elsie, the main character, is definitely not reminiscent of the strong, independent female characters that I’m used to getting from TJR.
That being said, there are a lot of large, important topics being explored in this book. Elsie and Ben meet at a pizza place one fateful evening, and the rest is history. They have a whirlwhind relationship and are certain that they have found that one person that they will love for the rest of their lives. But just 6 months later, Elsie is facing a life without Ben. The book explores her struggle to recover and evaluates what it means to lose somebody that you love and be forced to move on without them.
I just WISH I had enjoyed it more! I didn’t have any trouble picking the book up to read it, but I just wasn’t excited about the story and didn’t fall in love with any of the characters. Maybe I’ll try to re-read it someday. Has anybody else felt this way about a book?!
