THIS BOOK Y’ALL! It was a simple, swoon-worthy enemies-to-lovers romance coupled with the plights of multiple characters grappling with childhood traumas. It was light-hearted one second and deeply moving/thought-provoking the next. The supporting cast of characters was SO lovable, and honestly they were just as interesting as the main characters!
Nora is a straight-laced literary agent focused on excelling for her clients, making sure her sister Libby is happy and healthy, and enjoying the perks she has always loved that come with living in New York City. As a creature of habit, Nora is thrown for a loop when charismatic Libby suggests a month-long hiatus to the city of Sunshine Falls, which is the setting of one of Nora’s authors newest romance novels. Sunshine Falls is where Nora (literally) runs into the stormy editor that turned down said book, Charlie Lastra. Next comes a whirlwind of small town people and activities, and lots of slowly building tension between Nora and Charlie.
Seriously- READ THIS BOOK (grab it here). It has everything- sweet romance, sexual tension, self-discovery, quirky characters, and a charming small town setting. This was the first book I’ve read by Emily Henry, but I will definitely be reading future novels and will probably try to find Beach Read at the library or Half Priced Books the next time I’m there!
