The lies I tell serve a purpose, tipping karma in the right direction…The difference between justice and revenge comes down to who’s telling the story

This was a fast paced, very easy to read thriller! It was fun to read and the characters are interesting to get to know. I found myself guessing what Meg was up to at every turn, but I never really figured it out until the end! I loved the writing, and I will definitely go for books by this author in the future.
“Meg” has gone by many names, has lived many different lives- all with the goal of getting back at men that take advantage of the women that trust them. Now she has her sights set on the man that ruined her life (and especially that of her late mother). But, a reporter from her past is set on finding out her plan and exposing her as a serial con artist to the world. Kat embeds herself into Meg’s life, and her real estate business, at the same time as Meg is infiltrating the world of Ron Ashton.
Over the course of several months, Meg and Kat play a game of wits, each of them thinking they have the upper hand. It’s impossible to know what’s true and what is a lie- even as the reader! I enjoyed the back and forth between Meg and Kat, though I never really believed in their friendship. I wish more had happened for Kat at the end- it seemed like she worked so hard for not a whole lot of reward. In general, I didn’t love Kat as a character and felt like her storyline was a little weak. But she was a perfect vessel for learning about Meg in a way that was interesting and surprising!
Overall I definitely recommend this book for anyone wanting a thriller that is cerebral, keeps you guessing, and is all about some booty-kicking girl revenge!
