The It Girl

The It Girl by Ruth Ware

Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

I loved this book! All of the characters were so rich and unique- I felt connected to all of their different personalities. And the story. Is. WILD! This is one of my favorite thrillers I’ve read in a while. You think you know what’s going to happen, but you definitely do not! I was following along Hannah’s thought process the whole time- her theories had me convinced! And then….BOOM! Blindsided. I also LOVED the addition of November (you’ll know what I mean) toward the end of the book. Her character brought the whole story full circle for me!

20 years ago, Hannah’s best friend and college roommate April Clark-Cliveden was murdered. And Hannah is the one who found her on the floor of their dorm. Decades later, Hannah still struggles with the repercussions of that day. She never returned to Pelham college; she was stalked for years by journalists and reporters wanting to hear her side of the story. Just when Hannah feels like her life is moving forward, the man convicted of killing April- John Neville- dies in prison, bringing the story back into the spotlight and questions about Neville’s guilt are brought to the surface. Hannah can’t think about anything else, can’t sleep, can’t move on until those questions are answered. And she will not like what she finds.

I read the last half of this book super quickly- I enjoyed the beginning for the story and character development, but the plot thickens a lot toward the end. I did not see that one coming! Check it out here
