Jacqueline in Paris
Author: Ann Mah
Genre: Historical Fiction
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
I LOVED reading this book! It was so different and refreshing, and I always got a calm, happy feeling whenever I opened it up to read. This book is about the formative years of the woman we came to know so well as Jackie Kennedy, and it will give you a whole new perspective on one of America’s most captivating personalities!
Jacqueline Bouvier has dreamt of a year abroad in Paris for as long as she can remember. The life she has grown up in- aristocracy, debutante balls, and societal connections- does not intrigue her. What she wants is art, culture, and politics. She craves adventure, and this is the year she gets it. For a whole year, Jacqueline re-invents herself through the streets of Paris. She discovers what it means to be an American in a global context, and she finds out just what virtues she is willing to compromise on for the people she loves. This is the year that forms that Jackie Kennedy that changed American politics and pop culture forever.
Coincidentally, I started watching the new season of Emily in Paris shortly after finishing this book. Recommend.
